Center for Space Situational Awareness Symposium 2017

Abstract

The Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) was established by the International Council for Science in 1958. Among COSPAR s objectives are the promotion of scientific research in space on an international level, with emphasis on the free exchange of results, information, and opinions, and providing a forum, open to all scientists, for the discussion of problems that may affect space research. These objectives are achieved through the organization of symposia, publication, and other means. The COSPAR symposium has been initiated by COSPAR which aims to promote space research at a regional level in emerging countries and will be held every two years in a different area of the world. The Symposium will include multidisciplinary and training sessions. The first COSPAR symposium was held in Bangkok, Thailand in 2013 with the theme of “Planetary Systems of our Sun and other Stars, and the Future of Space Astronomy”, and the second symposium in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil in 2015 with the theme of “Water and Life in Universe”. The third symposium will be held in Jeju, South Korea in 2017 with the topic of “Small Satellites for Space Research”. Worldwide scientists and professionals will get together to discuss of new opportunities of space research with small satellites.
