Agile, Soft, and Adaptable Platform (ASAP) for Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief

Abstract

This proposal outlines an effort to develop a novel robot platform that combines an agilequadrupedal robot with soft inflatable skin for search and rescue operations in various disastersituations. The goal is to synergistically combines recent advances in creating soft robotic skinwith integrated sensing, and agile mobile robot technologies, which can provide great mobility, high sensing capability, and self-protection for robots’ in humanitarian assistance and disasterrelief.
