THE AUSTRALIAN AND NEW ZEALAND CONFERENCES ON OPTICS AND PHOTONICS - ANZCOP 2019

Abstract

The Australian and New Zealand Conferences on Optics and Photonics - ANZCOP 2019 brings together four co-located conferences with a central theme of optics and photonics. The ANZCOP conferences will connect people across all scientific disciplines associated with optics and photonics, incorporating general streams on optical science and technology and focussed topical conferences on micro- and nano-materials and devices, biomedical photonics and astronomical instrumentation. The meeting will incorporate presentations and discussion of science in plenaries, themed sessions, speed science discussions, and industry engagement forums. The meeting will engage trainees to researcher leaders, chemists to biologists, clinicians to physicists, and academics, industry, and policy makers. With this new multi-conference format for the Australian and New Zealand optics and photonics community, we anticipate that transdisciplinary and translational collaborations will be nurtured and established. Furthermore, the educational findings to be discussed at ANZCOP 2019 conference are strongly aligned to the following research interests of interest to the Air Force Office of Scientific Research: INFORMATION AND NETWORKS: Computational Cognition and Machine Intelligence, Science of Information/Computation/Learning/Fusion, Systems and Software PHYSICAL SCIENCES: Atomic and Molecular Physics, Electromagnetics, Laser and Optical Physics, Optoelectronics and Photonics, Quantum Electronic Solids, Quantum Information Sciences, Remote Sensing, Space Science, Ultrashort Pulse Laser-Matter Interactions CHEMISTRY AND BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES: Biophysics, Human Performance and Biosystems, Molecular Dynamics and Theoretical Chemistry, Organic Materials Chemistry
