US-UK-China Nonproliferation Dialogue

Abstract

This project brings together U.S., UK and Chinese experts in a Track 2 dialogue on technical and policy challenges to the nonproliferation regime, with special focus on the nuclear and missile programs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK.) The proposed dialogue will deliver two outputs. First, it will contribute technical understanding of options for freezing and monitoring the DPRK’s nuclear program, including utilization of Cooperative Threat Reduction tools and initiatives. Second, the dialogue will allow discussion with an unprecedented breadth of Chinese nuclear and military experts on the DPRK’s nuclear program, and would lay the foundations for further engagement with this group on other issues related to the future of the non-proliferation regime.
