Film Cooling Processes for Gas Turbine Blades Using Numerical Simulation Methods

Abstract

Our objective for this research study will involve heat transfer and fluid flow predictions of film cooling processes for gas turbine blade cooling using numerical simulation methods. The objective of this research effort is to establish and demonstrate how reliably film cooling flows can be predicted, using commercially available flow software packages FLUENT and COMSOL Multiphysics.
