Decentralized Formation Flight Robust Against Delays

Abstract

The proposed work, “Decentralized Formation Flight Robust Against Delays,” seeks to investigate new methods for mathematical modeling, analysis and robust control of networked multi-agent systems, investigating areas where maps or positioning systems are not available, and multiple unmanned aerial vehicles must be flown in formation while communicating over a network. The study will focus on communication delays, topology and their effects on dynamics to mitigate the effects of signal transmission speed and network congestion. The work also plans to develop a comprehensive tool to analyze stability of formation flight of multiple-agent systems considering communication topology and delays.
