Rethinking Assignment-based Methods in Multi-agent Differential Games

Abstract

The primary purpose of the proposed research project is to develop cooperative strategies for a team of mobile agents to support each other towards an overall mission, by possibly taking sacrificial roles. The effort focuses on effective team methods in swarm vs swarm engagements with a specific focus of developing cooperative strategies beyond individual assignments as is often used in target assignment methods. Determining optimal methods for cooperative engagements are essential to develop effective collaborative effects by cooperative networked weapons and focuses on improving key failure modes of existing target assignments.
