Global-Local Fluid-Thermal Analysis of High-Speed Munitions

Abstract

The proposed work is focused on the development of a detailed global-local fluid-thermal analysis capability of a high-speed maneuvering vehicle. The work will focus on capturing detailed fluid-thermal response in the gap region of a all-moveable fin, and also connecting that to the broader vehicle response. As such, a key aspect of this research is initialization and extraction of boundary conditions from reduced-order models at identified points of interest along a vehicle trajectory. This work will cover a performance period of 3 years.
