Mesostructure Enabled Technologies for Adaptive Airframes (METAA)

Abstract

Purdue University is requesting a cooperative agreement in the amount of $190,000.00to explore the design and development of adaptive metamaterials using concepts of smart architected materials to morph technologies in hypersonic design to significantly increase speed, reach, and maneuverability and decrease weight. The objective is to study architected materials that exhibit shape memory effect while offering enhanced actuation and performance.
