MACH NUMBER INDEPENDENT HOT-WIRE ANEMOMETRY

Abstract

The proposed research program aims to produce a new generation of probes specifically designed for high-speed flow anemometry based on the nano-scale thermal anemometry probe (NSTAP) recently developed at Princeton’s University. They will be validated by laminar, transitional, and turbulent supersonic wind-tunnel measurements. Associated to new electronic devices, these probes will provide an unprecedented level of accuracy, bandwidth and dynamic range.
