ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING WITH SOL-GEL

Abstract

The scope of the proposal is to develop sol-gel materials appropriate for additive manufacturing applications (3D-printing). The concept is to develop functional optical "ink" materials with range of refractive indices based on the sol-gel process. Using the optical "ink" materials we plan to demonstrate 3D-printing of optical devices. The goal is to achieve fabrication of gradient-index (GRIN) optical devices by 3D-printing.
