NS-CEP: Neuro-Symbolic Complex Event Processing

Abstract

This grant will investigate uncertainty-aware neuro-symbolic architectures of artificial intelligence to derive effective signal intelligence (SIGINT) with insights and foresight of yet unknown classes of complex events appearing in contested environments. This project will go beyond the current paradigm that heavily relies first on neural networks for summarizing high-dimensional data, and then on symbolic approaches for further offline analyses. We propose to overcome this dichotomy with innovative proposals to advance the research agenda in the growing field of neuro-symbolic learning and reasoning.
