Yucomat 2023, the 24rd Annual Conference on Material Science
Abstract
With the unfortunate ongoing turmoil in Ukraine, devastating the well-being of the Ukrainian people, it is necessary to support Ukrainian scientists and scholars in order to guarantee their inclusion and presentations at the YUCOMAT 2023 conference in Herceg Novi, Montenegro. Prof. Yury Gogotsi, Ukrainian-born, is Chair of the International Advisory Board for this year’s conference. YUCOMAT was established by the Yugoslavian chapter of the Materials Research Society (Yu-MRS) in 1997. Following several biannual conferences in Herceg Novi beginning in 1995, this quickly became an annual event attracting scientists from around the globe. The main intention of this organization is to support and encourage research and discoveries in materials science and engineering, and this conference highlights important research initiatives from scientists around the world. In 2007, Yu-MRS formed MRS-Serbia and MRS-Montenegro and the following year MRS-Serbia became a member of the Federation of European Materials Societies (FEMS). To allow for all relative, important science to be presented at this conference, we want to ensure that all eligible people from any country have the opportunity to attend.
