Wind tunnel experiments of active control of D90 jet

Abstract

The research is aimed at characterizing the control authority of Coanda valve circulation control effectors and slot jet apex control effectors for pitch, roll, and yaw control on a tailless delta-wing platform. In this project, we will carry out full-scale model tests in a wind tunnel to measure the control authority and effectiveness of this D-90 jet. Measurements will be carried out in the RJ Mitchell Wind Tunnel at the University of Southampton where forces-moments for various configurations will be obtained. This will enable us to understand the extent of control effectiveness of the novel flow effectors on the jet.
