Enhancing Regional and Global Collaboration in Plasma Physics- Financial Support for LAWPP Chile 2025

Abstract

The 17th Latin American Workshop on Plasma Physics (LAWPP Chile 2025) is a regional meeting with global undertones, whose main purpose is to provide a forum for research carried out in Latin America, while presenting the main trends at the international level on various areas of plasma physics. Therefore, it fosters the establishment of scientific collaborations between Latin American researchers, as well as between them and researchers in developed countries, providing a proper forum to assess their results. This meeting will gather together a community of (roughly) 150 plasma physicists, including prominent researchers from Latin America, USA and other regions. Some of the key topics to cover during LAWPP Chile 2025 include basic and fundamental plasma physics, high energy density plasmas, nuclear fusion, space plasma physics as well as interdisciplinary applications of plasma technology. These subjects are directly related to AFORS s interests in understanding plasma processes and advancing the U.S. Air Force research objectives described in the BAA, such as- A.3.e- High energy radiation matter systems, and A.3.h- Space Physics
