Multi-Layer Model of Swarm Intelligence for Resilient Autonomous Systems

Abstract

The purpose of this agreement is to research a distributed multi-layer autonomous Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) planning and control technology incorporating artificial life concepts and genetic algorithms. The overall goal is to develop and demonstrate a system capable of carrying out mission objectives at predefined levels of performance, while operating in an environment with intelligent adversaries directly opposing optimal operation. The problem consists of multiple, sometimes conflicting, objectives in a complex search space.
