Clique and Independence Complex Structures for Sensor Network Analysis

Abstract

The objective of this effort is to develop new foundational tools for understanding and interacting with networked collections of sensors which make inferences or decisions using only local data, without reference to a global aggregator. This will be accomplished through an investigation into how the structure and function of sensor networks is constrained by the environment and the type of data being sensed; how knowledge of those constraints can be leveraged to robustly extract mesoscale information about the sensed environment from a subsample of measurements; when and how it is possible to mislead the distributed elements of the system in a way that is undetectable without appeal to a global aggregator.
