Toward a Phenomenological Theory of Transport Phenomena in Molten Sulfide Systems

Abstract

This proposal focuses on experimental studies of transport properties of molten sulfide systems in order to establish a database for the critical evaluation of several theoretical models. As the PI points out there is a dearth of reliable experimental data for high temperature molten sulfides. The main results of this work will be a set of systematic measurements of the thermoelectric power as a function of temperature up to 1300 C on a series of sulfide compounds.
