Volume Mode Traveling Wave Tube Amplifier
Abstract
The proposed research program will demonstrate a novel approach to increasing the power and frequency of a traveling wave tube (TWT). The program will include the design, build and test of the novel amplifier operating at 30 kV with an output power exceeding several hundred Watts, a gain exceeding 50 dB and an interaction efficiency exceeding 10%.
