Series-Stacked Computer Architectures - Leveraging Multi-Core Systems for Extreme Miniaturization of Mobile Computing Platforms

Abstract

As the need for better (smaller, lighter, more powerful, etc.) devices on aircraft increase, so does the need for computational performance. The problem is that as the number of devices increases, so does the heat that these devices radiate; therefore, heat dissipation is needed. This is a specific concern for AF aircraft as heat dissipation systems are the heaviest and bulkiest parts of the system.
