Numerical Investigation of Active Flow Control of Low-Pressure Turbine Endwall Flows

Abstract

The objective of the proposed research is to carry out high-fidelity endwall simulations of a planar low pressure turbine (LPT) cascade with and without active flow control (AFC) for an airfoil that is of interest to the Air Force, and to to investigate the mean flow topology and the underlying hydrodynamic instabilities of this flow field.
