MBE Growth, Doping, and Band Structure Determination of Two-Dimensional Layered Dichalcogenides for Ultra-Low Power, Electron Correlation Based Device Technology

Abstract

As part of a proposed novel two-dimensional transistor, known as a Landau switch, the project will focus on a studies of samples grown under various conditions, and compare them to bulk and exfoliated samples, using high-resolution angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (HR-ARPES). The evolution of the electronic band structure across the metal-insulator transition will be documented.
