Leveraging Nucleated Graphitization for Super-Strong and Deformation Sensing Hybrid Nanomaterials
Abstract
The objective of this proposal is to attempt to control microstructure formation in carbon nanofibers (CNFs) to enhance their strength and create a piezoresistive response. The CNFs would ultimately be useful for reinforcing composites and for structural health monitoring.
