Understanding the Mechanism of Catalytic Selectivity During Electrochemical CO2 Reduction Using Nonlinear Soft X-Ray Spectroscopy

Abstract

The goal of this project will be to utilize sum frequency generation to characterize surface composition and electronic structure of transition metal catalysts under liquid phase electrochemical reaction conditions. This work will represent the first method for element specific, electronic structure characterization capable of achieving surface sensitivity at the buried solid-liquid interface.
