Chip-Scale Linear Non-Reciprocal Optomechanical Systems

Abstract

Non-reciprocal behavior is necessary for the application of laser and photonic systems to a variety of scientific and defense related applications. While this effect is typically accomplished by magnetic means, the deployment of specialized magnetic material is challenging to accomplish for compact, chip-scale applications as well as many defense applications. Thus, we seek the means to accomplish non-reciprocity or lack of time-reversal symmetry by non-magnetic means.
