Search for Novel Superconductors, Thermoelectrics, and Super-Thermal-Conductors with Enhanced Performance

Abstract

This research project proposes to search for novel superconductors with a Tc above the present record value of 134 K at ambient and 164K under pressure, and preferably close to or above room temperature of 300 K, and with a high Jc and reduced anisotropy; thermoelectric materials with concurrent large figure of merit and high power-factor above those recently achieved; and low cost super-thermal-conductors with thermal conductivity comparable to diamond, most based on and extended from recent promising results from this lab, its collaborators, and others.
