Non-monochromatic ionization effects induced by ultrashort laser pulses in dielectric crystals

Abstract

The objective of this basic research project is to provide the fundamentals for understanding and predicting the interaction of ultrashort laser pulses and dielectrics. This will enable the DoD to have a better vantage on laser-induced damage as well as a framework to undertake high-precision ultrafast laser manufacturing and machining.
