Optical diagnostics for flow control on small wings

Abstract

The objective for this funding request is to acquire a high-speed, high-energy laser for use in a particle image velocimetry (PIV) system. This piece of instrumentation will be deployed in the Dryden Wind Tunnel at USC. The PI will use the system to make measurements of the flow field over wings flying at transitional Reynolds numbers.
