Toward the Development of Aluminum Cluster-Containing Materials for Propulsion Applications

Abstract

This work will study aluminum cluster-containing materials to explore their potential for propulsion applications. Aluminum-containing molecules and clusters, that exhibit ionic, covalent, metallic, and coordinate bonding types will be investigated. Most of these clusters and molecules to be studied contain aluminum cluster cores that are made up of low oxidation state aluminum atoms, and as such, they have significant energetic potential.
