The Onset of Dynamic Stall: Understanding Flowfield Unsteadinessto Enable Closed-Loop Control

Abstract

The objective of the proposed work is to better understand the unsteady flowfield dynamics associated with the onset of dynamic stall for the future development of closed-loop dynamic stall control. The effort seeks to understand the relationship between the unsteady dynamics of the off-body flowfield and the unsteady surface pressure distribution, allowing methods to be developed for estimating the state of the dynamic stall flowfield through the use of surface pressure measurements.
