Scalable Photonic Machine for Neuromorphic Computation-Computational Cognition

Abstract

The proposed research aims at designing, characterizing and optimizing a new neurmorphic photonic computer, known as a liquid state machine (LSM). Our design will consist of finding the most complex spatio-temporal transient dynamics in a photonic network architecture so that we can achieve beyond state-of-the art performance in benchmark for pattern recognition and time-series forecasting.
