Investigation of the Longitudinal Dependence of Ionospheric Density Distribution and its Driving Mechanisms

Abstract

This research will combine uses electrodynamic measurements from ground-based instrumentation to understand the causes of the longitudinal differences of the vertical drift and the formation of longitudinal variability of density irregularities. The causes of discrete post-midnight structures will be investigated, with special emphasis on large-scale wave structure in the bottomside ionosphere.
