Characterizing Neural Code from a Minimum-Description-Length Perspective

Abstract

The objective is to develop a new theoretical framework for understanding neural code that overcomes limitations of extant theories while retaining their strengths in a unified and principled way. The framework is large in scope, encompassing sensory processing (including adaptation), bottom-up and top-down attention, and eye movements.
