Dynamically Adaptive Hybrid Nanoplasmonic Networks on Chips (NoCs)

Abstract

The objective is to investigate hybridizing nanoscale plasmonics with integrated photonics for reconfigurable network on-chip (NoC) technologies. Their goal is to pave the way for a communication infrastructure for next generation computing chips which is: 1) able to deliver high bandwidth, 2) characterized with low latency, 3) characterized with low power, and 4) agile, i.e., able to adapt and reconfigure itself dynamically, intelligently and rapidly to support the changing requirements.
