Pulse-Burst Laser System for High-speed Measurements in Non-equilibrium and Shock-dominated Flows

Abstract

To purchase a powerful new high-speed laser system that will greatly enhance our ability to investigate the physics of high-speed flows relevant to AFOSR. This system is a pulse-burst laser that will deliver a limited burst of pulses at frequencies ranging from 5 kHz to 500 kHz. The laser system can also be operated in a double-pulse mode that is suitable for particle image velocimetry at rates as high as 500 kHz
