Real-Time Optimization in Complex Stochastic Environments

Abstract

The ultimate goal of the proposed research is to enable a systematic on-line use of optimization techniques for real-time applications in complex, time-varying stochastic environments. This is in contrast to on-line optimization where one can accord computationally intensive methods. Our work is intended to develop a framework of complementary methods addressing this limitation while recognizing requirements for new generations of systems critical to the national infrastructure and consistent with emerging data-driven, network-centric views of warfare.
