Silicon-Based Quantum Plasmonics for Chip-Integrated Single and Few Photon Information Systems

Abstract

The objective is to develop Silicon-based plasmonic components for generation, manipulation and detection of single and correlated photons and plasmons. The team will utilize these components in experiments that test quantum coherence of plasmons and hybrid collective excitations. The effort has the potential to enable a new generation of extremely compact chipbased hybrid plasmonic CMOS-compatible components for quantum information processing, which can be readily integrated in guided wave photonic circuits.
