Modelling, understanding and controlling GHz-, THz- and optical properties of ferroelectric and multiferroic materials materials

Abstract

The research objectives are, for ferroelectric and multiferroic materials, to (I) use ab-initio schemes to study GHz, THz, and optical properties; (ii) useeffective Hamiltonian approaches that extend the reach of first-principles calculations by mimicking complex properties at finite temperatures;, and (iii) apply the inverse method to allows design of materials with improved properties. strengthened, in order to ground our predictions.
