Short Pulse Mid IR Lasers and Amplifiers via Direct Inscription of Waveguide Devices in ZnSe

Abstract

Short pulse waveguide lasers will be demonstrated in Cr2+: ZnSe and Fe2+: ZnSe, with the aim of developing the first directly written mid-infrared waveguide laser source of 10 GHz repetition rate; compact and robust mid-infrared sources is of great importance for countermeasures and remote sensing applications.
