Abstract

The objective of this basic research project is to provide a first-principles description of realistic extreme nonlinear optics propagation of ultrashort laser pulses (USPs) at mid-IR wavelengths over macroscopic propagation paths on the order of hundreds of meters to kilometers in the atmosphere. Also the PI and his team will provide a comprehensive simulation of filamenting USPs interacting with surface targets.
