12th International Congress of Neuroethology (ICN)
Abstract
the 12th International Congress of Neuroethology (ICN) to be held inMontevideo, Uruguay, March 30 - April 3, 2016. Research in neuroethology seeks to bridge neural mechanisms and behavior in the context of evolutionary processes. Neuroethology is an ideal discipline for identifying species that, because of their specializations, may be the basis of future scientific breakthroughs. Since its inception, neuroethology has focused on animal species that allow the insightful exploration of the neural bases of behavior. The comparative scope of neuroethology is essential for understanding the generality and evolutionary plasticity of brain mechanisms. These principles are reflected in the plenary lectures, symposia, and poster sessions of the conference program. The international nature of the meeting also helps advance this approach, making it easier to monitor the development of potentially useful animal models from distant parts of the planet.
