Graphene Multi-Scale Directed Self-Assembly of Nanoenergetics

Abstract

The objectiver is to establish a synergy between nanoenergetic materials and graphene to synthesize macroscale (mm to cm scale) 3D nanoenergetic structures. The method will provide a convenient way to design and construct macroscale 3D nanothermite based on directed self-assembly (DSA) process. It is hypothesized that controlling functional groups in the graphene/nanothermite material will facilitate the DSA of well-anchored fuel and oxidizer nanoparticles to 2D functionalized graphene sheets.
