Resolvent analysis for compressible wall turbulence

Abstract

The goals of this effort are to, i) provide a rigorous, non-empirical framework for the modeling of compressible wall turbulence, ii) to compare its output with experimental and numerical results in the literature and iii) to make predictions regarding the Reynolds number scaling for these flows and the potential for control. A secondary objective is to lay groundwork for the interaction of wall turbulence with walls, for example, compliant, vibrating and/or morphing wing panels of generalized properties.
