Exploring atomically thin van der Waals metals for spintronics

Abstract

The objectives of this project are two-fold: (1) Investigate the spin and valleytransport properties in atomically thin group-V TMDs; and (2) explore ferromagnetism in thesecompounds intercalated with 3d transition metal ions such as V, Cr, Mn and Fe. The project isbuilt on the PI s recent success in the fabrication of high quality electrical devices of atomically thinmetallic TMDs. .
