Towards Ballistic Transport In Complex Oxides

Abstract

The objective of the project is to develop methods to improve electron mobility in a correlated oxide semiconductor, SrTiO3. Three major challenges that limit carrier mobility in SrTiO3-based heterostructures will be addressed: ionized impurity scattering at low temperatures, electron-phonon scattering at room temperatures, and fabrication-induced disorder in micro/nanoscale devices.
