Next-Generation Chemical-Kinetics, Transport, And Reacting-Flow Software Tools

Abstract

The proposed effort will establish the structures and networks for developing the nextgeneration of chemical modeling software. Modeling and simulation play critical roles inthe development of energy storage and conversion research generally, and in combustionand propulsion technology particularly. For over 20 years, the widespread availability ofChemkin has made major enabling contributions for the modeling of complexcombustion processes and coupling into reactive flow simulations. The intent of thepresent proposal is to build on the foundation of these successes, planning for the nextgeneration of modeling tools with major advances in non-ideal chemical kinetics, heterogeneous catalysis, and electrochemistry,
