Non-Linear Growth And Breakdown Toward Turbulence In Hypersonic Boundary Layers: Investigation Offundamental Physical Mechanisms

Abstract

The objectives of this effort are: 1) understand and characterize the fundamental non-linear mechanisms in breakdown toward turbulence using initial-value analysis and direct numerical simulations (DNS) and (2) to perform precursor calculations for the purpose of designing canonical experiments to isolate different breakdown mechanisms.
