Next Generation Advances In Ionosphere Thermosphere Coupling At Multiple Scales For Environmental Specification And Prediction
Abstract
The objective of the MURI is to untangle the physics involved in thermosphere-ionosphere coupling. Ionospheric instabilities can play havoc with radio communications, GPS positioning, and over-the-horizon radar. The thermosphere and it s interaction with the ionosphere play a big part in ionospheric instabilities.
