A Testbed To Investigate Scalable And Power-Efficient Scale-Out Systems Software

Abstract

The equipment will enhance the current state of the art (CPU’s single-threaded performance limit due to physical bounds, heat, and power consumption) by researching scaling-out architectures, scale-out technologies (e.g., heterogeneity, RDMA) to continue to advance performance. The proposed equipment is a testbed to investigate scalable and power-efficient scale-out systems software.
