Statistical Analysis Of The Dynamics Of The Ion Density Fluctuations Detected By The C/NOFS Planar Langmuirprobe
Abstract
C/NOFS PLP data supplied by AFRL will be processed to produce a statistical description of the dynamics of the ion density fluctuations detected by that onboard instrument. In addition to their potential scientific value, the information resulting from the proposed work may be useful in the design of operational procedures, as well as in the development of mitigation techniques for the adverse effects of the ionosphere on satellite-based communication and navigation systems.
